Our assortment at a glance Which washbasin will it be?

In addition to the various designs, we also offer different types of washbasins:

With or without a cabinet, traditional washbasins are always an excellent choice. They usually have a slightly wider ceramic rim. With or without a cabinet, they are an excellent choice.

Vanity basins form a harmonious visual unit with the matching washbasin cabinet. The slightly thinner ceramic rim makes them look more compact and elegant.

Lay-on washbasins sit like a bowl on top of the furniture or on a matching panel with a cut-out. This transforms any washbasin area into a real eye-catcher.

Each of the respective product ranges also features an array of double washbasins and handrinse basins. So which model will it be?

Washbasin with or without cabinet

There’s no such thing as enough space in the bathroom, especially if several people in the household want to store their personal bits and pieces and accessories. Washbasins with a base cabinet are ideal for adding even more storage space to the bathroom vanity unit.

This is where Geberit comes in with its solutions designed to optimise your bathroom vanity organisation. Sophisticated combinations of bathroom sinks and cabinets make ideal use of the space in your bathroom. Depending on the model, the base cabinets are available with handles or a push-to-open mechanism. Innovative organiser systems for the drawers provide a better overview and more space.

Bathroom sink combinations complete with vanity units are available with both classic and lay-on washbasins. Your plumber or specialist retailer will be happy to advise you.

Space-saving handrinse basin for the guest WC

When designing a narrow bathroom or guest WC, the ceramic washbasin should not take up much space. It should also be practical and aesthetically appealing. Asymmetric handrinse basins or corner washbasins allow you to create interesting design options in combination with the rest of the bathroom furnishings.

Another important consideration is that small handrinse basins still have to be deep enough to allow you to place your hands completely under the water. This is where the right choice of taps is crucial. You can create even more space around the washbasin by incorporating not only shelf surfaces, but also matching small cabinets.

Our bathroom series offer a large selection of small washbasins in various designs to suit your needs.

What kinds of washbasins are available?

Washbasins are primarily categorised as follows: Classic washbasins that can be installed on their own or with furniture.

Vanity basins, which are always installed together with a piece of furniture, or lay-on washbasins, which are placed on top of a piece of furniture or a worktop like a bowl.

What is the ideal height for a washbasin?

There are standard installation heights for washbasin ceramics. The top edge of the washbasin is usually around 85 cm for a classic or vanity basin, and slightly higher for lay-on washbasins at around 90 cm.

Washbasins can also be installed slightly higher or lower as required to accommodate the height of the user.

What storage space options do washbasins with cabinets offer?

The advantage of washbasins with a base cabinet is that they offer storage space directly at the vanity unit. The space under the washbasin is often not used for anything else, making it the ideal place for a piece of bathroom furniture.

A base unit not only provides storage space, but also conceals the trap and other more technical elements.

Which washbasins are suitable for small bathrooms?

Small bathrooms and guest bathrooms generally have a small floor plan and space is at a premium. This is why it is especially important to make optimum use of the available space.

Washbasins that are particularly suitable for small bathrooms are characterised above all by their shorter dimensions. Not only in terms of length, but mostly in terms of their projection.

The less the washbasin protrudes into the room, the easier it is for people to move around in the bathroom and the more spacious the space feels overall. Guest washbasins are generally just small washbasins, but most bathroom ranges also include compact models that have been specially designed for tiny bathrooms due to their small projection.

How are Geberit washbasins installed?

The ceramic washbasins are mounted differently depending on the structure of the wall. As a general rule, washbasins can withstand a maximum load of 150 kilograms. This requires appropriate wall fastenings that are specifically designed for this purpose.

In the case of solid wall construction (with bricks), the washbasin can also be attached directly to the wall. Drywall structures require an installation element that is installed behind the wall.
